Sometimes you want to go out without shouting over a DJ, committing to a three-course dinner, or spending the entire evening talking exclusively to the two friends you arrived with.

Enter Chai & Chamak.

A night for South Asian women to dress up, drink chai, discover some great brands, eat good food, and meet other women in the community in a setting that actually makes it easy to talk to people.

Think less conference. Less networking mixer. Definitely less fluorescent-light vendor expo.

More: beautiful space, good music, chai in hand, a little shopping, and a room full of women you might actually want to see again.

Whether you're coming with friends or walking in completely solo, the point is to give you a reason to get out of the house and a much easier way to make new connections once you're there.

So, how does the night work?

6:30–7:15 PM — Chai, Drinks, Food & Shopping

Arrive, check in, grab some chai or another drink, get something to eat, and start exploring.

We'll have a curated group of South Asian and women-focused brands throughout the space, with everything from fashion and jewelry to beauty, accessories, and other fun things.

This is also your time to settle in, catch up with friends, or start meeting people if you came alone.

And yes, coming alone is completely normal.

In fact, one of the reasons we're creating nights like this is because making new friends as an adult should not require joining a run club at 6:00 AM.

7:15–7:30 PM — Welcome + Meet Someone New

We'll briefly bring everyone together, explain the evening, and do a light social icebreaker designed to make it easier to talk to someone you did not arrive with.

Nothing humiliating.

No standing in a circle and announcing an interesting fact about yourself.

No forced corporate networking energy.

Just enough structure to make sure the room does not immediately divide into groups of people who already know each other.

7:30–8:00 PM — The Featured Moment

Each Chai & Chamak night will include one short featured segment centered around beauty, style, culture, lifestyle, or something else we think is genuinely worth talking about.

It might be a conversation with an interesting founder, a beauty or fashion expert, a stylist, a live demonstration, or another guest who has something fun and useful to share.

The key word here is short.

You did not buy a ticket to spend your evening sitting through a seminar.

8:00–9:30 PM — Shop, Sip & Socialize

After that, the evening opens back up.

Browse the vendors. Get another chai. Eat. Take photos. Go back to the table you were thinking about buying something from. Talk to the woman you met earlier. Introduce yourself to someone new.

We'll keep the music going, the drinks flowing, and the atmosphere relaxed.

Just a room full of women, plenty to browse, and enough time to actually enjoy being there.

The Vendors

We are intentionally keeping the vendor lineup curated.

This is not meant to feel like a giant bazaar where you spend two hours walking past 47 nearly identical tables.

Expect a smaller selection of interesting brands across categories such as:

• Fashion

• Jewelry

• Beauty and skincare

• Accessories

• Fragrance

• Desserts and specialty foods

• Lifestyle brands

• South Asian-owned and women-owned businesses

The goal is quality over quantity—and ideally at least one thing you become unnecessarily attached to.

Food & Drinks

Chai, other drinks, light food, and refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

Come ready to snack, sip, socialize, and potentially make several purchasing decisions that seemed entirely reasonable under flattering lighting.

Who is this for?

South Asian women looking for a fun night out and an easy way to meet more people in the community.

Come if you:

• Want to make new friends

• Want an excuse to dress up

• Love discovering new brands

• Recently moved to the area

• Have lived here forever but somehow still meet the same twelve people

• Want something social that does not revolve around dating

• Just really like chai

You will not be the only one.

Dress Code

Elevated casual / girls' night out.

Basically, wear something that makes you feel good.

Traditional, Western, fusion—we don't care.

This is called Chai & Chamak, though, so a little chamak is certainly encouraged.

Tickets

Attendance will be limited so the evening still feels social and intimate rather than like you've accidentally wandered into a convention center.

Tickets are nonrefundable.

A Few House Rules

Be kind.

Be welcoming.

If you came with friends, make an effort to talk to someone outside your group.

Please treat our vendors, venue staff, and other guests respectfully.

SASH reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone whose behavior interferes with another guest's experience.

Photography and short video clips may be taken during the evening for SASH social media and future event promotion. If you prefer not to appear in photos, just let us know at check-in.
